Mapping

Changes how a material's texture maps are looked up on a surface without altering the mesh itself — UV, Generated, or Object coordinate space, plus per-axis offset, rotation, scale, and a triplanar-blend control.

The Mapping node in Infinite, showing its inputs, controls and outputs.

What it does

Mapping is a 3D node: it builds, changes or lights geometry that Render 3D turns into a picture. It takes 3D shape in and gives 3D shape out.

Try it

Switch to Object space and animate the rotate values to make a tiled pattern slowly spin across a surface independent of its own transform.

Inputs

  • 3D shape geo

Outputs

  • 3D shape out

Controls

Every control with a range can be driven by a modulator, a note, an audio level or a sketch.

y-4 to 40
z-180 to 1800
