Source node

Noise

Generates organic, ever-shifting texture — soft clouds, ridged terrain, cell-like Voronoi and Worley patterns, or plain white static — from six procedural noise algorithms. It's the visual equivalent of static: raw material for almost everything else.

The Noise node in Infinite, showing its controls and output.

What it does

Noise is a source node: it makes a picture from nothing, so it sits at the start of a visual chain. It has no input and gives picture out, so it starts a chain.

Try it

Feed Noise into a 3D Plane's height so the terrain rolls and drifts like real landscape.

Inputs

  • None. It starts a chain.

Outputs

  • picture out

Controls

Every control with a range can be driven by a modulator, a note, an audio level or a sketch.
