Distribute Points in Grid

Generates a plain rectangular lattice of points from scratch — no geometry input needed — with adjustable count, spacing, jitter, and per-point size. Its point ordering deliberately matches Image to Points, so the two line up point-for- point at equal counts.

What it does

Distribute Points in Grid is a 3D node: it builds, changes or lights geometry that Render 3D turns into a picture. It has no input and gives 3D shape out, so it starts a chain.

Try it

Build a 20×20 point grid and instance small spheres on it for a uniform matrix-style array.

Inputs and outputs

Inputs

  • None. It starts a chain.

Outputs

  • 3D shape out

Controls

Every control with a range can be driven by a modulator, a note, an audio level or a sketch.

ControlRange or optionsDefault
count x1 to 20010
count y1 to 20010
spacing x0.01 to 20.200000003
spacing y0.01 to 20.200000003
jitter0 to 10
point size0.002 to 0.30.0500000007
