3D node

Depth Projection

Turns a depth map, plus an optional colour image, into a 3D point cloud or a triangulated surface. It supports pinhole camera, planar, radial and cylindrical projections, depth curves, and edge tearing.

The Depth Projection node in Infinite, showing its inputs, controls and outputs.

What it does

Depth Projection is a 3D node: it builds, changes or lights geometry that Render 3D turns into a picture. It takes picture in and gives 3D shape out.

Try it

Feed a depth map and its matching photo to pop a flat picture into a shallow 3D scene.

Inputs and outputs

Inputs

  • picture depth
  • picture color

Outputs

  • 3D shape out

Controls

Every control with a range can be driven by a modulator, a note, an audio level or a sketch.
