3D node

Set Vertex Color

Writes colour onto each element: vertex colour on a mesh, or per-particle colour on a point cloud, whichever the input carries. Source picks where the colour comes from: one flat colour, a two-colour ramp, random per element, a texture sampled at each element's UV, or the swatches of a Palette node. Render 3D reads it without being told.

The Set Vertex Color node in Infinite, showing its inputs, controls and outputs.

What it does

Set Vertex Color is a 3D node: it builds, changes or lights geometry that Render 3D turns into a picture. It takes 3D shape, picture and colour palette in and gives 3D shape out.

Try it

Colour a scatter of points from a Palette so every point picks one swatch.
